Topic: Urban Rail Transit Implications

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

looks like you can safely remove the last two as they're already implied!

subway seems like it would get occasional mis-tags with subway (restaurant). In fact there is at least one mis-tagged post on the first page when I am typing this.

There is a more generic tag rapid transit which already has more than a few alias to it. Feels like subway should also be aliased to that, or made into a disambiguation instead.

There is also metro which is used much less often, which should probably be aliased too.

Just because it can get can occasional mistag I don't think that means we should do away with a fairly well established tag. Removing it for a much much more general tag also seems like a misguided decision. As for metro, a metro can include subway but isn't exclusively subway, as they can also include elevated sections, trams, monorail, bus rapid transit (BRT), trolleybus, water taxis, and other modes I'm probably forgetting.

If anything, subway should also imply metro, while having tram and monorail also imply metro

Edit: Also, I find it a bit frustrating that instead of fixing a mistagged post, you left it mistagged to prove a point. I'll go ahead and fix it along with any others I come across.

I found 11 posts that had been mistagged (all fixed now) out of nearly 800 in the subway tag, hardly common enough to warrant getting rid of the tag
