It's a general tag, but it's implied by characters. What if those characters are depicted outside of a pokemon setting (like how fan characters can be depicted outside the world that they're a fan character of)? One way to resolve this is that it's only tagged if a character is pokemon championy enough to be twys?

or just what about Iris pre-BW2? should Blue count? he's only briefly champion in the games. what about every other character who is a former champion, do they not count? should we include all of fhe main series player characters? since arguably all of them become champions.

I mean, honestly, if we're going to treat it like a profession rather than a character category than it just shouldn't be implied by characters.

If it's a character category then the tag should be in the character category but that was soundly rejected by most peeps topic #43233

Hm, Iris currently implies both gym_leader and pokemon_champion. That should maybe be undone.
