A friend of mine experimented with Google once, and found out it knows "Genesis" and "Mega Drive" are interchangeable... but it doesn't know what contexts it's interchangeable in.

You will get biblical sites if you search "Book of Megadrive".

Apparently as a quirk it garnered like, actual media attention, which explains why they fixed it.
