The bulk update request #10522 is pending approval.

Reason: Use *_insertion and *_egg_insertion formats instead of egg_from_* and egg_in_* because the latter cause too many erroneous taggings (like basically all of swallowing_eggs counting as egg_insertion, which it probably shouldn't, and most of egg_through counting as oviposition, even though it's not considered as such).

Not the first BUR I've made for this over the years (see BUR #2190 and BUR #57), but now that vaginal_oviposition got aliased to egg_from_pussy, I'm making it personnal.

Yeah, I’m sick of having to sift egg_from_pussy from egg_in_pussy. It seems clear that most people can’t keep the two straight. No surprise considering how similar the tag names are.

Copying what I said last time this came up:

Oviposition should probably be renamed entirely tbh. I know its the technical term for egg laying in general, but I always associate it with eggs being laid inside another character. It's often used that way in kink stuff (e.g. the oviposition tag on AO3, which is separated from egg laying).

I don't see how oviposition is any less ambiguous a term.

I'd rather do away with oviposition, and just follow the standard x_in_y and x_from_y style tags other things use. It's easier to remember and less confusing for people unfamiliar with what exactly oviposition means or what's expected from it.

Oviposition is a mess of a tag but I don't think it should be completely done away with. It's a useful blanket tag - with the sheer number of tags related to eggs and egg laying, there should at least be one tag that all of them imply so it's easier to search for or blacklist; similar to intersex - a tag that shouldn't be added on its own but is there as a blanket. If renaming, maybe something like egg_fetish or egg_play would be more encompassing.
Very much for restructuring egg_in_* and egg_from_*, though, because it causes so.... so many mistags.
