Topic: [APPROVED] Tag alias: explicitly_stated_love -> stated_love

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #75104 explicitly_stated_love -> stated_love has been approved.

Reason: The "explicitly" part of the tag is pointless. I assume it's patterned after explicitly stated consent and explicitly stated nonconsent, but I think it makes sense to draw attention to that something is incontrovertibly communicated. I don't see why that needs to be used here.

There's an argument for aliasing the tag to i love you, but some posts in explicitly stated love don't say a phrase similar to that, or even don't depict someone telling someone else they love them (as post #4213621 was probably tagged for someone saying they love somebody else). Maybe i love you could imply stated_love, though.

EDIT: The tag alias explicitly_stated_love -> stated_love (forum #437832) has been approved by @spe.

I don't think i_love_you should imply stated_love since it's sometimes used as like, Valentines-y/greeting card-ish images like the example given on the wiki. In these cases it's not always the character saying the words, they're more like. Idk, set-dressing?

Personally, I prefer stated_love just for consistency with the other stated_* tags.

the other stated_* tags are generally for, like, individual character traits: age, sexuality, gender, and the like. characters declaring their love for each other feels like a much different case to me.
