In my opinion the time itself is enough, but you need to account for the fact that many users may only visit once a week or so, so you need to allow for 2 weeks for as many people as possible to have a chance to notice the proposals.

I imagine the time could be extended if it's determined that the new rules really need more discussion than what 1 week would allow. I think trying to get it done in 1 week is fine, and it can be extended to 2 if needed.

I consider myself a trusting and reasonable person, but even I'm starting to get suspicious about what's going on here.

The language you have been using, the hiding of certain posts, a "pending investigation"... this is all starting to seem incredibly ominous.

If you are not going to take the route of 100% transparency in the management of this site, then please don't announce anything until you actually have something concrete to announce or it will lead to nothing but trouble. Most people will see one of two options here. Either you have something to hide, or you are just incompetent. Do you really want people to think either?

Nah, this is only remotely related to the website itself and more drama between BD itself and (former) employee(s).
There is a good chance everything will be unhidden to the public once this is dealt with but as it currently stands, this mud fight has no place in this forum and should/needs to be done in privacy.

As much as I love entertainment as the rest of you, I'd rather not have a couple people discussing private affairs loudly on the neighbour seats when I'm trying to consume my porn in peace.

The problem is it seems some people are butthurt about some things and forgetting and/or disregarding this piece of information.

Though it would be nice for 100% transparency, as said, private affairs are private affairs and as long as e621 is (mostly) left out of things I don't care either way.

A bit of explanation as well as a bit of context on this is in order I think =)

DarkAngel is new to furry as well as to his responsibilities to e621 - he's learning a lot on the job so go easy on him! Nothing is going to really change, just the same old rules we've had are getting documented properly and brought up to standard.

The kinds of content on the site aren't going anywhere, no drastic policy changes are in the works, and I'd be really dumb if I was to try and force something like that through. We all know what happens when that goes down.

My, as well as Bad Dragon's reputation is on the line when it comes to e621 (and remember, that counts both from the point of view of ruining the site, not just liability) - so I'm eager not to screw it up!

Anyway - DarkAngel is someone who I am currently training on community management - char's old role. Naturally, as we've seen over the last few days, he is still learning how this works - but me (as well as char) are helping point him in the right direction, and get him trained up. Try and go easy on him - this is very stressful as a first-time community management exercise! There is, however, no training quite like a trial by fire.

Remember, at the end of the day responsibility for e621 lands with me - and we've all come so far as a community that I'd be retarded to screw up all that we've made here. If anyone wants to talk to me, or get some reassurance, send me a PM. I'd be happy to talk about the future of the site - and about any concerns you may have. :)

Is good to read that the current rules are just being solidified, using the words "new changes" is a bit misleading, makes you think something will be different. And is better to read that content will not be blocked, like, c'mon! You guys are one of the tabs that I always open!

The wording in that section hasn't been changed since it was originally written in Feb of 2007. Maybe back then you could comment and tag without needing an account. That would explain some of the "dog in your guitar" comments etc. But now you need an account AND an email to register (wasn't that in the most recent update?) before you can do either commenting or tagging. So basically, it just needs updating.

(It also refers people to this page for giving any site suggestions. Which is also not current information. It probably should be linking to here instead. So the entry just needs a little updating is all.)
