Topic: Is anime_nosebleed distinct from regular nosebleeds?

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

The anime_nosebleed tag currently does not implicate nosebleed, but one of the example images for nosebleed is an anime nosebleed. Either anime_nosebleed should implicate nosebleed, or the example image should be changed.

Personally I would argue against the implication, as anime nosebleeds are meant to be iconography rather than literal. I would guess that there is a non-trivial number of users who would like to blacklist nosebleeds that depict realistic injury, but who would be fine with anime nosebleeds.

Blood is blood. It doesn't make sense for it to NOT imply nosebleed. If someone wants to blacklist realistic nosebleeds but not anime ones they can put nosebleed -anime_nosebleed in their blacklist.

Not a fan of the name anime_nosebleed. Anime may have popularized it, but it's used quite often outside of anime, and it doesn't need an "anime style" to be applicable.

I agree with this. erotic_nosebleed or arousal_nosebleed perhaps?

Another option is nosebleed_from_arousal.

So what? It's not like anime owns it.

Honestly, I don't see the reason why we should separate anime_nosebleed with nosebleed.
They are both visually nosebleeds, but with differing context (i.e., injury & arousal).
Do we really need to separate them when we can just add one of the two above tags in our searches?

The only exception I can see is the exaggerated/gushing nosebleeds, which I feel would sound better as explosive_nosebleed instead.

I would say for the same reason we have separate tags for sweat and sweatdrop. It's iconography.
