Topic: Why was this old Cavafly01 animation deleted?

Posted under General

I noticed that one animation of Foxy I really enjoyed from Cavafly01 was deleted.

I realized that it was a reupload of an old animation from around 9 years ago.

The deletion reason being given was that Max was getting negative comments supposedly and wanted to delete the stuff he uploaded himself. However he later states that he is OK with other people uploading his work to the site. I’m wondering then, is it ok for other people to reupload the previous animation for him? If not, why then? Even other people on previous reuploads of the above mentioned Foxy animation are confused.

Don't reupload previously deleted posts, it will just be deleted again. If the post is okay to be here, it can be undeleted. In the case of an artist issuing a takedown and later changing their mind, it can be restored if they rescind the takedown (I don't know the exact process, but I believe it involves sending another takedown asking to restore the posts instead of deleting them).

So we just need Cava to do it himself?

yes, the site does not take 3rd party requests of this nature, we need the actual original person to confirm directly.

No. Once the artist has made a Takedown of their work, reuploads of that work aren't allowed. However, if the artist has sent in another Takedown reversing their earlier Takedown (taking down their Takedown, so to speak), their work can be undeleted. The assumption is that if an artist does a Takedown, they don't want the Takendown stuff here, end of story as far as e621 is concerned.

However, as they're not DNP, you can upload other works of theirs that weren't affected by the Takedown, such as newer animations they've made since then or animations that aren't uploaded to the site already. This is what the artist meant by, "If others want to upload in here for me, I'm fine with it. I'll let them deal with the bad comments for me too." If you want the Takendown animation specifically, you'll need to convince the artist to send in that second Takedown.

(Gee, I'm slow.)
