Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: paragon -> predecessor

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The tag alias #71733 paragon -> predecessor has been rejected.

Reason: The game paragon was shut down on April 27, 2018.

With Predecessor launching as the same game under a different game on December 1, 2022

The game features the same character cast, therefore it is only sensible to fuse the two tags together to avoid any future confusion confusion

EDIT: The tag alias paragon -> predecessor (forum #414694) has been rejected by @spe.

Updated by auto moderator

The bulk update request #8957 is pending approval.

mass update paragon -> predecessor_(game)
create alias paragon_(game) (1) -> predecessor_(game) (0)
change category predecessor_(game) (0) -> copyright
change category paragon (30) -> general

Reason: In agreement with Wolfgang.
paragon_(game) should be used due to existing artist and character names with the same term.
Though the original point stands. With the same characters moving to a new 'main' franchise, that should be used as the main tag.

The wikis state a slightly different set of events. They say that paragon's assets were made free to use and list 3 different mobas made from those assets. Two of which have shut down since. I think changing these isn't quite as clear cut as presented because these are just asset packs now.

Is this a distinction worth keeping? Shouldn't they all be under one tag regardless?
Genuine question. I've never heard of either of these games before.
