The tag alias #58429 crotch_leaf -> fig_leaf has been rejected.

Reason: Since this is a leaf used for covering up nudity, usually the crotch, allowing for an easier to understand name such as "crotch leaf" to be used as an alias would help with finding it

It's less ambiguous but yes, traditionally it was a fig leaf.

I think the reason we chose crotch_leaf was that it's more general? It seems like a poor term. Leaf_censorship would have been more clear? Sigh... :/

crotch_leaf isn't used. They want to make an alias so they can use it without having to remember it's a fig_leaf.

Personally, I'd probably alias them to leaf_censor, and/or disambiguate fig_leaf. A fig leaf is a leaf of a fig tree, which doesn't have to be depicted as censoring genitals, and a leaf used to censor genitals doesn't have to be a fig leaf (though someone may erroneously call it that even when it's a maple leaf or some other kind of leaf).

Well, I was just making up an example but... hmm, yes, it does.

I was thinking of voting this up, just to prevent people using crotch_leaf tag when fig_leaf and leaf_censor already exist. But then some fool will use a non-fig leaf. XD
