I've always considered the shoulder to be part of the arm, similar to how the wrist is part of the arm. Both the shoulder and the wrist are at the very end of the arm, but each are still parts that compose the arm itself.

I don't love monotone_tuft, dark_tuft, or light_tuft. At the very least I think monotone_tuft should be removed because it's the default. Almost every tuft is going to be monotone.

I would agree. I find monotone_* useless and unnecessary in most cases, to be honest. Would [color]_[thing] -multicolored_[thing] not do the same job anyways?
