Topic: [REJECTED] Tag alias: <3_tail -> heart_cleft_tail

Although this does bring up the question of whether heart_tail ought to be aliased to spade_tail, vice versa, or need to be further differentiated.

From what I can tell, heart_tail is specifically not spade_tail. A heart tail is when a character's tail(s) makes the shape of a heart, like this:

Though some apparent mistaggings suggest the name is a bit on the vague side. Really, both <3_tail and heart_tail seem to be rather messy, with <3_tail having examples of spade tails and heart tails, along with the heart-cleft tails, and heart_tail including spade tails. Also, some heart tails seem to be extremely loosely interpreted, like this or this, which I wouldn't count. Probably should get a manual cleanup, and then disambiguated.

Badly shaped heart tails are still heart tails. As for the subject at hand, the heart forming tails belong in tail_heart, because it follows the naming convention of hand_heart. Once that is done, <3_tail will be free to be combined into heart_tail. Perhaps slap the _(gesture) to it to avoid confusion.

The spade tails in that tag are more heart shaped than normal spade tails I felt. I don't feel that disambiguation is necessary as I have been the one making sure these concepts have stayed organized, and I let the spade tails stay there. The definition was left broad enough to also include heart markings on the tail too, but that could change.

Only if they are still visibly a heart tail. post #2511234 is a jagged tail not in the shape of a heart, and post #2659943 is more a shape of a pincer than a heart. Just like how pecs can be inferred to not be pecs anymore when it's badly drawn or excessively pumped/stylized enough, there are limits for when a crudely drawn X should no longer be tagged X.

I'd say they both need a disambiguation, suggesting spade_tail, heart_cleft_tail, and something like heart-shaped_tail. Unlike hand_heart, heart_tail/tail_heart can be inferred to mean a tail with a heart/spade on the end, a tail with two heart-like protrusions on the end, or the length of the tail made into the shape of a heart.

It is tagged that way simply, because it is trying to form a heart shape, and falls in line with other such images under that tag trying to form those shapes. The heart shape in that image has an invisible side.

I agree with the forked one as being misshapen, but it seems intuitive to me what it is trying to be. There is just not enough tail there to make the full heart. It seems very related to the tail heart concept, but I suppose if we want to deny that art piece the convenience of being grouped with other related tail shapes on the grounds of it isn't drawn well enough, then so be it.

Consider the case of someone trying to form a hand heart, and it ends up looking more like a potato. Does it really make sense to tag hand_potato instead of going with what it was obviously trying to be? Who is going to be looking for hand potatoes?

Ambiguous as they may be, you are suggesting something that will make it more cumbersome to search, and I would rather keep manually sorting these concepts than make them harder to find for everyone. Disambiguation will not solve anything. The tags are already being organized into their respective tags without the need of a page. It turns a 50% chance of a mistag from an ignorant tagger into a 100% chance, while the burden on those having to fix it remains unchanged.

With tail_heart it can easily be aliased to tail_heart_(gesture). There needs to be a tag base for collaborative_tail_heart.

As an aside, I gathered all of the heart spades and some other examples that may not be the same thing into heart_spade_tail.
