Topic: [REJECTED] Vixen -> Fox does not mean Fox -> Vixen

Posted under Tag Alias and Implication Suggestions

The bulk update request #641 has been rejected.

remove alias vixen (0) -> fox (397744)

Reason: I'll be blunt. The current alias rule of "vixen -> fox" is illogical. Literally. A vixen is a fox, but a fox may not be a vixen.

Why do I think this is necisary? Search "male/female vixen knot", and see how few vixens there are. The current alias strips the gender from the species, causing the given search to give erronius results. Would this be the start to a headache inducing flood of masculine and feminine species name tags? Maybe, but that may not be a bad thing. There currently is no way of coupling tags together for better searching.

This request will be followed up by a BUR containing:
imply vixen -> female
imply vixen -> fox

Also, if this was discussed before, my appologies. Search is not my friend for anything except Posts.

EDIT: The bulk update request #641 (forum #303896) has been rejected by @Knotty_Curls.

If there was any feasible way of enforcing this, we would have done it by now. Have some respect for our intelligence.
