That seems to have done it. I've got old iPad running 9.3.5 iOS here and the thumbs pop up fine on e926. Still can't see anything on e621.

I have deployed the changes to the main e621 site now. Hopefully everything is working again for everyone involved. Thank you for being patient while this was worked out and I appreciate the help that everyone has given during the process.

Everything is working fine now for me at least, thank you!

HTTPS doesn't work on certain older websites. The source link will break if they get changed to HTTPS.

Example:

https://www.jurassicbeauties.com/

My apologies if this reply is redundant or if it's been addressed, searching brought me here.

In any case, I can confirm this. Sticking https onto every source URL breaks links. I've made it a small hobby to look at old downloaded pictures and upload them here. While many sources have long since gone offline, others are still online from the '90s even but source links break with the https transformation.

I suppose that's a small price to pay for ensuring security on the sites that support it, but many valid links will appear broken.

For the rampant Attention Required pages, if we could get that to redirect to the URL instead of the home page, that would be great.

Clicking on any image or animation thumbnail generates a [Error: close] message at the top of the screen. Links don't open.

You might have switched to a different viewing mode. In the sidebar, right under the search bar, find the dropdown menu labeled "Mode", and set it to "View": https://i.imgur.com/abnuzgk.png
On mobile, that menu is located near the bottom of the page, under all the posts.

So here's a strange thing that just happened.

I saw that the BUR in topic #30774 (removing the incorrect Bandit alias) just got approved, so I thought I'd quickly create the second half in the interests of getting the problem fully resolved as soon as possible. I clicked on "Request BUR", copy-pasted the script from the thread, didn't bother filling out the "Title" or "Reason" fields since it was going in an existing thread, and entered the topic number. After submitting the BUR, I then clicked the "Edit" button on the resulting post (forum #317953) to remove the blank "Reason:" line and add another line of commentary below the BUR. Upon clicking "Submit" on this edit, I was redirected to the URL https://e621.net/forum_posts/317953. This URL contained only the text "That page does not exist" in H1 tags, followed by "Return to index" linking to the front page. Strangely, clicking on the URL from this post's preview appears to correctly render a page containing only my forum post. Editing the post from that page redirects to https://e621.net/forum_topics/30774?page=1#forum_post_317953 (the full thread with my post highlighted), rather than staying on the single-post page.

I was not able to replicate this behaviour with subsequent edits. Perhaps it is something to do with editing a BUR request in an existing thread immediately after submitting it? I'm not about to create a bunch of junk BURs to test. Maybe there's some kind of database delay which causes malfunctions if you edit a post under certain circumstances too soon after creation?

No problem. As I said, it happens to me all the time.
Both my link and your link return the image normally for me. This is very interesting indeed.
Is there something special about the Netherlands (I assume that it's what the nl refers to) in this situation?

The main Brazil cache tristitia lacks sufficient disk space and monthly transfer to act as an effective cache for everything, so we use free VMs from Oracle in that region to host screen- and full-sized files. This is handled by a redirect on the main cache br.ib.metapix.net to br1 or br2 depending on whether the last character of the image folder is even/odd.

In this case, https://br.ib.metapix.net/files/screen/505/505098_kasasagi_plu3.png is odd, so it redirects to https://br2.ib.metapix.net/files/screen/505/505098_kasasagi_plu3.png which does work in the image matching tool. br1 will also redirect there, and similarly fails in the matching tool. Usually there is an option to follow redirects when visiting a URL, and this should be enabled within the tool.

(You will need to load these URLs in a new tab rather than open them directly, as e621 is not a permitted referer.)

Updated

The uncut tag seems to be experiencing an unusual issue right now. Not sure how long it's been going on, but the post number is in the extreme negatives (going on -6800 at time of writing), and is very quickly decreasing still.

For some reason I can't unfavorite this post #2342413. The favorite button shows as green but it's in my favorites (If I click the button it says "Error: You have already favorited this post"). I tried it with a different device, same problem.

Follow the steps listed here.

As I tried to discuss in topic #31017, after I changed the theme of e621 it caused me to not be able to click the rating tags, solo/duo tags, etc when uploading. I now have to manually enter them in as nothing happens when I click them

Do you get any errors in the debug console? (Press F12, then click on the "Console" tab).
Also, which OS and browser do you use?

Ah. Yes, I can see what you mean.
The buttons aren't actually broken, it's just that their styling looks really weird on the bloodlust theme. An inactive button is greyish-white; an active button is slightly more white.

I'll see if I can edit the style for those to be a bit more obvious.

I'm concerned that there exist two changes attributed to my user that I did not make (I'm generally a passive user and have made no edits).

https://e621.net/post_versions?commit=Search&search%5Bupdater_name%5D=pikachusex

Of course someone *could* have obtained access to my account, but it seems unlikely, given that the only actions that I can't account for are two seemingly helpful edits:

Could changes be erroneously assigned to the wrong user?

When the new site was rolled out it would attribute some tag changes when a post was voted on or favorited. This has since been fixed. Those appear to be aliases/implications that were being applied.

Probable cause, e621 add a referrer when checking for image meta which the va sub-server doesn't like (as you can see by clicking above image, compared to copying it to url bar).

I am on mobile (iPhone with current updates) and I cannot open any picture unless I hold it and open in new tab. When I click on a picture a banner pops up saying “updating post: 1penisng” and then says “error” and I be picture won’t open.

You might have switched to a different viewing mode, which broke for you somehow.
Scroll down, beneath all the posts, and change the "Mode" dropdown to "View".

The DText syntax for search links with a custom title doesn't work. some text does not result in "some text" with a link to the search cat dog This might be a result of "|" being a legal tag character. See {{:|}}

The search function for sets doesn't seem to work. No matter what search term I put in, I get 0 results.

It's working for me: set:cloudy_days. Are you sure, you're searching for the short name?
If you search the normal name it will not work: set:{{∷_|_Peaceful Cloudy_Days_|_∷}}.

I just found out there are keyboard shortcuts, none works for me for some reason on my dekstop PC.
A and D work on my laptop, but arrows don't.
What could be going on?

I don't think arrow keys works for navigation, at least it isn't listed at the Shortcuts List. Ofc the up key (scroll up) and down key (scroll down) should work.

Did you enable shortcuts on your PC? Account -> Settings -> Advanced -> Enable keyboard shortcuts -> Yes -> Submit/Save settings.

There was a typo in the query code, it tried to look for something called locket_tags (whoops). The fix will be in the next deploy.

They are listed.

Btw it was the account setting, it worked on the laptop because I wasn't logged in.
I think they should be enabled as default, it doesn't really make sense to have them disabled.

It's already on by default for newly created accounts. I'm not sure how it went when the setting was first introduced, it might not have been applied to exisiting accounts or you simply disabled it by mistake sometime.

I'm encountering with a bug, related to blacklist system. Some artworks, tagged with scat are being shown, however i HAVE this tag in my blacklist and it's enabled. I remember even adding diaper tag to blacklist and it wasn't working. What could be a reason of this error and will it be fixed? (bug after last update)
UPD: Issue closed; Bug Fixed.

Nope, 100% sure I've never touched it, I wasn't even aware the option to enable shortcuts existed.

This just happened again in forum #320216. I don't think it's a coincidence that both posts were replies to an existing topic created by the BUR system which I tried to edit within the first couple of minutes. This time I had to reload the page twice and it only stopped giving me the error when the post was 4 minutes old.

Coincidentally, there seems to be some kind of timer on new posts, where if you edit it within 4 or 5 minutes, it won't get the "Updated x minutes ago" text. Maybe the error is related to how the system handles edits to recent posts?

Th reply button in post comments for me seems to jump directly to the comment prompt without actually putting in the DText-formatted quote, since like a few days. (Tested here in the forums and seemed to be fine though)

As of today it won't let me open any image to open instead of opening it there is a message that just says 'error' as a banner. I am using mobile Android but was working just fine for years until today.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I clicked on "Sets" at the top of the page, y'know to get to the page that lists out all the sets. And I tried using the search function there to look through the sets. ("Show Search Options")

Like right now there's a set on the front page called "Wite Wolf", but if I try searching for "Wolf" I get 0 results.

It's because it's searching for sets named simply "Wolf", not every set that has the term "Wolf" in the name. You can use wildcards " * " before, after or in both ways to search for every set that have a certain term in its name, example:

  • Wolf*
    • Will search for sets named "Wolf A" and "Wolf B", but not "A Wolf" and "B Wolf".
  • *Wolf
    • Will search for sets named "A Wolf" and "B Wolf", but not "Wolf A" and "Wolf B".
  • *Wolf*
    • Will search for sets named both "A Wolf", "B Wolf" and "Wolf A", "Wolf B".

Honestly that's really counterintuitive. Most searches on sites don't search only for exact matches unless you specify it to do so, and there's no text indicating that it's looking for an exact match. To the user, all it shows is a search function, which we would logically use like any other search engine.

It does seem a bit inconsistent, at least. With the Artists listing, the search is treated as partial by default (searching for foo is treated as searching for *foo*), unless a wildcard is explicitly included in the search, then it's exact (searching for *zet will find lizet and tails-zet, but not zetha or dezetaka). I don't know why a pool search wouldn't take that approach, since it's unlikely people will need an exact search without wildcards for pools.

1° Bug: There's a pretty weird visual bug with this new text field. The text gets incredibly blurry when it reaches the 11° text line, it gets better when zooming in on it, but at full zoom out it's pretty BAD.

The mobile site of imgur screws the quality of images. If you want to see with a better fidelity while on mobile, turn on "Desktop Site/Mode" at your browser.

https://imgur.com/a/DepbK9n

2° Bug: The text field while reporting a comment that "leaks" through e621 boundaries (I don't know how to call it), will make the text field leak too. The text field at comment sections is fine, it's only when reporting this happens.

https://imgur.com/a/Vwp48x3 (nvm, it's seems that every reporting screen makes the text field leaks through, it doesn't need to be a comment that also leaks.)

Strangely enough, I can't replicate either of your issues.

The input test looks pretty normal for me, regardless of the angle: https://i.imgur.com/fjILABL.png
And the report page should expand to fit the content: https://i.imgur.com/s0hFXw6.png

(There is an unrelated bug on the report page that causes an overflow on mobile, but that's caused by the horizontal resolution being too small, not huge like in your screenshot)

What is your browser / OS?
And are you sure you do not have other extensions / userscripts / custom styles that might interfere with the page?

I also can't reproduce this and would have blamed some browser extension or userscript. It might just be browser dependent like bitwolfy suggested.

... because by putting user:[their name] in your blacklist, you are trying to blacklist a specific user.
Why not just blacklist their artist tag instead?

aaa_battery said:

You should add the artist tag to your blacklist the same way you would add any other tag, without the user: suffix. The artwork is probably not being posted by the artist, and even if it were there is no guarantee that their e621 account has the same name as their artist tag.

Why some posts have higher score than a sum of their upvotes and downvotes?
Look at the post #3036359 for example (hover the cursor over the score to see vote details). At the time of writing it has 51 upvotes and 2 downvotes, so the total score should be 49 but is 79. It means it has 30 additional upvotes of unknown origin.

It's not the first time I notice such inconsistency (it doesn't happen very often though) but it's the first time I see that the inconsistency is so big (usually I encountered only a few of 'excessive' upvotes). This seems like a weird bug to me.

Updated

small bug(?) ... glitch(?):

When looking at either furniture_lamp page, or a post tagged with furniture_lamp (example: post #2989502 )
the LIST of tags says
"furniture lamp 0" (with zero colored red),
which makes it seem like the tag should be removed or corrected (similar to someone adding a typo-ed tag that results in red number "1" to right of tag)

but if we look at furniture_lamp it has 106 posts. (75 + 31 posts)

The character count in the bottom-right of the new text entry field overlaps with the text if your final line is long enough.

Not something we can easily fix.

I know it's probably not a bug and it's not as bad as it was nearly a year ago, but the recaptcha pages are still going around and are highly annoying when browsing.

My existing profile length from before the site update was 6707 characters over the 50k limit and attempting to edit it caused massive lag. It seems to be under control now though.
