Topic: Tag Deletion Suggestion: Inner ear colors

Posted under Tag/Wiki Projects and Questions

There are currently 10 different tags for inner ear color, totaling 115 posts:

black_inner_ear, 10 posts
blue_inner_ear, 7 posts
brown_inner_ear, 3 posts
green_inner_ear, 14 posts
grey_inner_ear, 8 posts
pink_inner_ear, 7 posts
red_inner_ear, 5 posts
tan_inner_ear, 14 posts
white_inner_ear, 34 posts
yellow_inner ear, 13 posts

Considering how few posts these tags are applied to (I'm assuming most people don't even know about), does anyone else agree that the above tags are kinda useless/unnecessary?

again lack of usage is usually not a proper reason to remove or deny implication of a tag.

low usage can simply be blamed on lack of awareness, the tags arnt linked to in any wiki's and have no implications or aliases. The majority of all tags on e621 have started out this way...

Note that this color set does exist for things like nipples, lips, noses and even claws as well, I am pretty sure the inner ear color is no less important then claws or lips...

Absolutely against deletion, if anything (and not saying that this should be done) then consolidation is a better move, e.g. black_*, white_* and colored_* or similar.

The tags are as objective and descriptive as any other color tag, so there's no reason to invalidate just because they are poorly populated.

about as useful as eye color tags, meaning that there is no reason to get rid of them

Never even crossed my mind...Just thought I'd try help cleaning up on tags, but never considered those implications; thank you for your help.

Nothing to worry about, don't get discouraged. What might at first seem like a great idea may not be quite as good when you get a few other opinions thrown your way, which is why taking it to the forum is a great idea before doing something rash and potentially getting some real backlash.

Eye color tags helped me find an image once, no joke.

Ear color? Not yet. Maybe one day.

This a thousand times over. A significant percentage of my suggestions are "bad ideas" :) Nothing wrong with sharing bad ideas-- unless you're not willing to give them up. :)
