It's not a one-off. My A220, even with the 4MATIC, it’s quite efficient. It's got a really well-tuned 2.0L turbo engine, and a lot of it comes down to the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7G-DCT) keeping the RPMs low at highway speeds. I also utilize the ECO drive mode quite a bit. What kind of Jetta do you have? Sometimes even small differences in engine tuning or transmission can make a big difference.

Welp, the EPA rates the A220 4MATIC @ 24 MPG city / 34 hwy (combined average 28 MPG), so it may be that yer little German fuel computer is lying to you :\

I mean hypermilers are able to outduel the already stringent EPA testers, but not by double

It may even be that you had just reset the mileage computer after filling up, and the true consumption has not yet set in

The dealer who sold me sold me this car did warn me about certain electronic malfunctions at certain times and that in case it ever happens, I should take it to the dealership. Most car owners nowadays are resorting to mass marketing cars (Honda, Toyota, etc.) and avoiding luxury vehicles since repairs are sketchy and crooked.

My Jetta loves to lie to me about my fuel efficiency, it'll consistently display ~38MPG by the end of most trips, but when I do the math I'm getting like 32. It's very ambitious.
