Under the search bar there is a settings button, click it and set:
Image Crop to Full
Card Size to Small

This changes the post layout to the same as it was before.

Am I missing something or is it just not on mobile? Sadly I have searched through the settings and advanced settings and there is nothing about image crop or card size :(
