What you do to remember this, is put something where you would NEVER put it in somewhere VERY obvious, where you will see it.
You'll see it, and be like, "OH, this is there, which means that thing is somewhere specific"

yeah, but the thing is I know where I put it and it's just no longer where I put it, and I just can't remember moving it or anything. and even if I had moved it, it's also not in any of the locations that I had been in the time period between me setting it down and me realizing it wasn't there...

and the worst part is is that it's perishable food so if I don't figure out where it managed to magically scuttle off to it's eventually going to be a problem.

the other day I found a thin line of ants and tried to track exactly where they were getting in, and what exactly they were going for. I did end up finding both. the food that they had found was just a random piece of cat food. so, uhh...

yeah, I've still got no idea where that food I lost ended up.
