@savageorange: slightly unrelated but i wish darktable was an actually competent lightroom competitor instead of being complete fucking dogshit, in a similar vain to GIMP.

LOL. GIMP isn't trying to compete directly with Photoshop; darktable isn't trying to compete directly with LR (it only started as LR-inspired). This is a typical, and IMO beneficial, approach for mature OSS projects to take (after all, they rarely have the raw developer-hours that Adobe etc can invest into software). They're just trying to improve on how they do what they are already doing.
(OTOH Bruce Williams does seem to think that DT is better than LR at LR things, and unlike me, he has the hours in both LR and DT to justify that opinion)
