They definitely have a case. One thing I learned while being a barback was that even if an incident is self-inflicted or caused by an independent party, the establishment that provided the drink is still partially held responsible. Depending on the severity, they could potentially lose their liquor license for a while.

yeah, I'd never even considered the possibility of food or drink being contaminated in such a way.
I already make a habit of not letting anything I intend to ingest out of sight when I'm in a public setting and even holding glasses in such a way that the drink is covered. but... man, glass, that really kinda sounds like it could've been introduced in the kitchen or behind the bar accidentally, and uhh... I'm not sure there's much I could do to protect against that on my end.
