I have been here long enough to see how many users have fell down the hole of needing to be the one to be uploader of the most popular post on the site and get that big e-penis from it.
Most of those users are also permabanned now for trying stuff like pirating content beforehand just to be able to immidiately upload it when their custom script alerts that artist posted it publicly.

The name is still first in edit history or the one in replacement history.

I can easily see why people would think like this, but it's funny to imagine people caring so much about doing numbers uploading art they didn't even make.

there really are some very odd behaviors adopted by a few, let's say, "overly dedicated" users. like, I kinda understand uploading just to see the number go up, but trying to snipe an upload is just strange.

personally, I'd prefer being one of several to upload bits of a comic or something. just knowing there were other people who were also enthusiastic enough to share something you also like; gave very, like, book club-y vibes to me.
