姫島 朱乃, Himejima Akeno

Akeno serves as the second in command of Rias' family and a sort of pseudo-mother to them as well. Akeno possesses a deep sadistic streak which helps her excel as a contract demon in the living world where her services are much sought after.

Akeno was born of the union of a human and Fallen Angel, Barkiel. When it was discovered that her mother was having an affair with a fallen angel Church Officials went to her home to confront her. During the ensuing conflict Akeno's mother was slain and she herself barely escaped. At a young age she was left homeless and she resented her father deeply for not being there to save her mother or her. Some time after her escape Akeno met with Rias. Starving, alone, and without hope Akeno accepted Rias' offer to join her family and became a half-demon/half-fallen angel.

Because she loathed her father so much Akeno was unable to draw upon the powers of her Fallen Angel half for a long time. However after a heartfelt talk with Issei where she showed him her Half Angel wings and commented how ugly they were, her spirit was renewed when Issei told her matter-of-factly: "I like the Akeno you are now". Akeno was able to recall that her father had not abandoned her or her mother but had also been forced out and had hoped to draw attention away from his family by fleeing.
