Karen Katphish, formerly known as Katana, is a modern major character in the SMG4 series. She is an anthropomorphic cat and single mother of three children who works as a clerk in various stores throughout the Mushroom Kingdom.

She is the main protagonist of SMG4 Movie: Silence of the Cats, a story that centers around herself, her children and her past with a criminal organization named Hitman, Incorporated where she met Mr. WPNZ, until she left the corporation to start a new life with her three kids until their abduction at the hands of her ex-partner with good-intended, but ultimately hazardous, assistance from Mario.
