Ah! After ten thousand years, I'm free! It's time to conquer Earth!

Rita Repulsa is the main antagonist of the original Mighty Morphing Power Rangers. She is an evil alien sorceress and leader of the Evil Space Aliens. At some point she was imprisoned within a dumpster on the moon, when a pair of human astronauts accidentally released her. Rita Repulsa then returned to her evil palace where she regained her power, and set out to conquer earth.

Rita Repulsa's modus operandi is to use her sorcery to teleport her minions from the moon to Earth, creating monsters using her Monster Matic Machine or enchanting random objects, and increasing the size of her monsters after they were initially defeated by the Power Rangers.

Mighty Morphing Power Rangers was originally a Japanese show: Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger in which the stock footage from Sentai Zuranger was dubbed over and the in-between clips had original American/Canadian Actors. In the original, she was known as Bandora and was the leader of the Bandora Gang. Many of her powers and abilities remain the same between both versions but her personality was much more sinister and cunning rather than hammy and shrill. The show also put greater emphasis on her relation with the likes of Dai Satan and her Generals.

In Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger and the first season she was played by the late Machiko Soga. During the second season onwards, Saban began producing oroginal footage for the Rita Repulsa segments and storylines. This version of her was played by Carla Perez. Both versions of Rita were dubbed over Barbara Goodson.
