River Lakes is a major character in Jackaloo's comic series The Internship, first appearing in Volume 2. River is male-bodied, but identifies as nonbinary and uses they/she pronouns. They are a fan of porn star Fletcher Collins, which led them to work at his strip club Rail as a drag queen. This leads to a friendship with coworker Cooper Estevez. They struggle with dysphoria and social acceptance, as their androgynous presentation often alienates them from binary-gendered individuals.
