Character: scp-4975

"Tick tock", the cuckoo clock ticks.
"Cuckoo", the bird inside sings.
Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock.
As ticks the time, so ticks your heart.
May you live long as you hear its song.
Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick tock.
Listen close, for when it stops,
the hatchling comes out of its home.
Tick tock tick tock tick tock tick-
Did you hear it? Did it stop?
My child, it meant your time was up.

SCP-4975, a.k.a., "Time's Up" is an anomalous object in the SCP Foundation Mythos.

SCP-4975 is a vaguely humanoid entity with various avian attributes, the most notable of which is its beak. Its body structure is long and thin overall, and its limbs taper off into formless extremities, lacking distinct digits. A thick, hardened skin layer covers the entirety of its body, including its beak. SCP-4975's most notable feature is its neck, which is disproportionately long for its body like an ostrich. SCP-4975 is capable of rotating the individual vertebrae within its neck one after the other, creating an audible rhythmic clicking noise like the ticking of a clock or metronome.

When SCP-4975 is active and begins pursuing its prey it will begin stalking them while continuously rotating its vertebrae. This stalking lasts for upwards to 10 months, during which only the target is capable of hearing its clicking. Despite, this the target will not be able to see SCP-4975 no matter where they look. When SCP-4975 stops rotating the vertebrae it will suddenly attack its prey piercing and devouring its flesh with its long, sharp beak and talons. This is the only time where the victim can see SCP-4975. While others can see the victim being attacked, they will still not be able to see or attack SCP-4975. Even after the Foundation placed SCP-4975's body in containment, reports of similar attacks occurring after periods of time in which SCP-4975 rotates its vertebrae still occur. Meaning that there are either multiple instances of SCP-4975 or SCP-4975 does not need to leave its cell to breach containment.

It is theorized given the German Nursery Rhyme above, that SCP-4975 may be a personification of death, which is why it cannot be contained. However, SCP-6001 refutes this idea.

SCP-4975 is classified as Euclid, but pending reclassification as Keter.
