A trail camera is a type of camera that is made to be mounted somewhere outside in nature to capture photos of wildlife when motion activated or by a timer. They often come with a night vision camera to capture wildlife in the dark, and as such, many photos are in greyscale and have a camera flash which can illuminate nearby objects and cause organisms’ eyes to glow. This creates an eerie effect sometimes used in horror for catching paranormal creatures like cryptids on camera. Photos taken by them may also add a time and date stamp to the photos or other information such as temperature and humidity.
