Species: ethereal (zzz)
Ethereals are a species featured in Zenless Zone Zero. They are monstrous flora and fauna, often with a human-like shape, and their bodies are composed of ether. Ethereals are naturally born in Hollows, but both living and artificial beings can become corrupted into Ethereals from prolonged exposure inside a Hollow.
Ethereals most often resemble human-like creatures with black bodies that are accented with glowing neon-green segments. More powerful Ethereals have white crystals on their body and their green color is replaced with pink. All Ethereals have a "core" which is their weak spot, and thus is often guarded with protective armor. Ethereals are not sentient, but more powerful variants are more skilled in combat and strategy, especially those born from corrupted beings.
