trunk (anatomy)
An appendage that an elephant (ex: asian elephant, indian elephant), mammoth (ex: woolly mammoth), or a tapir for example would have, although there are exceptions. A trunk is an elongated nose/snout that aside from being used for sniffing and breathing long distances, a trunk can be used for drinking, eating, grabbing, or for social interaction.
