Bribery refers to the act of manipulating someone via the offer of something desirable. The bribe can be material, such as money or a desired object, or abstract, such as a favor (sexual or otherwise). Note that this is distinct from simply paying someone for a service; a bribe is given to convince someone to do something they would not normally do.
