virginity symbolism
Visual iconography used to denote virginity. Usually takes one of two forms:
1. Flower
Virginity is sometimes depicted as a flower, often a white lily. Virginity loss may be depicted as the flower losing its petals or being destroyed; this is a reference to "deflowering", a slang term for loss of virginity.
2. Cherry
This symbolism is a reference to "cherry popping", a slang term for the tearing of the hymen during a woman's first sexual activity. This has made the cherry symbol a shorthand for virginity, even if no "popping" is depicted.
This tag counts as proof of virginity for the purposes of tagging virgin.
