Character: demi-fiend
The Demi-fiend (Hitoshura in Japanese) is the player character of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. He was originally a human named Naoki Kashima, but was forcibly transformed into a half-demon hybrid by Lucifer during the prologue of the game. He is depicted as a humanoid with glowing black and teal magical tattoos, yellow eyes, and a small horn sticking out the back of his neck. He is also consistently topless throughout the game.
Unlike previous Megami Tensei protagonists, the Demi-fiend is capable of using magic and possesses several unique abilities.
The Demi-fiend's first demon is a Pixie who is given more characterization than most demons. In the Demi-fiend's later cameos, Pixie is always one of his demons and is sometimes depicted as a companion. Fanworks often extrapolate this relationship into a romantic one.
The Demi-fiend speaks in his Digital Devil Saga and Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse cameos, but in his Shin Megami Tensei V cameo, his Pixie speaks for him. Fanworks may or may not depict him as nonverbal based on these depictions.
