Acrid is a playable character from the 2013 indie roguelite video game Risk of Rain, as well as its third-person shooter roguelite sequel, Risk of Rain 2.

Acrid is a reddish-purple alien monster of unknown species and dubious origin. It is capable of walking and running on two or four legs, shooting caustic substances from its claws and mouth, and inflicting some kind of viral, burning disease upon its enemies.

Acrid's canon gender is ambiguous, with it having been referred to as "it" in the game's endings, "him" in the second game's logbook, and even "she" by one of the game's developers. The author of this wiki chooses to use it/its pronouns but thinks Acrid is just Acrid, it probably doesn't even know what sex is.
