The Mizuno Corporation (japanese: 美津濃株式会社; Mizuno Kabushiki-gaisha) or simply Mizuno is a Japanese sports equipment and sportswear company based in Suminoe Ward, Osaka, Japan. The company makes a wide variety of equipment for a wide variety of sports. Mizuno also sponsors many sporting events in and out of Japan.
Founded in 1906, Mizuno originally focused on selling western made sundries. Before quickly transitioning into producing athletic wears and sports equipment. Mizuno would continue to expand into athletics, briefly manufacturing ordnance during World War 2 before continuing into sports post war. Following the end of World War 2, Mizuno began to expand outside of Japan, opening its first factory in the United States in 1961, and creating sponsorships and deals for athletes and sports teams across much of the anglosphere. Eventually expanding further more internationally as a globally recognized sports wear brand.
