Character: horridus
Horridus (real name Sara Hill) is a character from Image Comics' long-running series The Savage Dragon, created by Erik Larsen.
She is a half human hybrid with an unknown alien species, which abducted her parents and impregnated her mother. Fearing their mutant child, her parents kept her chained in the basement for most of her early years, with only a television set for company, severely impairing her mental and verbal development. This ended only when her parents' murder/suicide brought police attention to the house, leading to her being liberated by Officer Dragon and going on to have a successful career fighting crime. She generally appears simple, kind, and ditzy, though she can also be insightful at times. She was married for a time to Rex Dexter, and had a daughter, Dixie, by him. She from COVID-19 after refusing to get vaccinated.
Horridus bears resemblance to an orange, anthropomorphic thorny devil. She has large green eyes and sharp spines along the majority of her body, with the exceptions of her face, neck, torso, crotch, rear, the palms of her hands, and the soles of her feet. When clothed, she typically wears a green backless leotard.
