"Poofy" hair describes when a character is depicted as having simplified, cloud-like "poofs" of hair, used to represent tightly curled, thick and voluminous curly hair.

Poofy hair may be drawn with looping lines around the outline of the hair, or loops or spirals drawn within the "poofs" to imply stray hairs. Poofy hair mostly lacks any sharp or pointed shapes, unlike other stylized depictions of hair.

This is most commonly seen on sheep and poodle characters.
