Character: unnamed character

An unnamed character is identifiable (as in, their origin is known; there is no need to search for a name), but happens to have no clear name or moniker given.

A unnamed character may be...

A character that appears within a canon piece of media, but has no official name nor a common fan nickname — such as a background character from a cartoon series.
A character that the artist clearly intends to name (i.e. by referring to them as "that (unnamed) guy").
A character that will likely not receive a name, but is still clearly identifiable across multiple images (sometimes a descriptive moniker is best to create in this case). Alternate versions of the only image they appear in don't count towards this.

Not to be confused with...

anon — A character who is meant to be a featureless, generic stand-in.

anthro_anon — As anon, except the generic stand-in more resembles a furry/scalie character.

anonymous_character — A character who's supposed to be unknown.
nameless_character — A character with enough visual qualities to not warrant the anon/anthro_anon tag, but still lacks a real identity.
unknown_character — A character whose name is not known to the uploader of the post, rather than the character intentionally not having a name.
