My Sweet Piano (aka "Piano-chan") is a female sheep introduced in 1976 as one of My Melody's closest friends. Originally known as "Hitsuji-san", Sanrio decided to name her "Piano" in a 2005 issue of "Strawberry Newspaper" and a supporting characters in the 2005 anime Onegai My Melody. Starting in the mid 2010s, she quickly become very popular with Sanrio fans and received spinoff merchandise and become very prominent in recent years.
