A falchion is a type of sword, usually designed with a round edge near the upper end of the blade (Also called a "cusp". Visually similar to the blades of most machetes ).
Additionally, the pommel of a falchion tends to be quite massive, with a symmetrical design, typically presenting a a basic round shape.

It must to be noted that the definition of a such weapon is sometimes a bit arbitrary and not quite clear cut, with swords being called falchions which deviate the above description.
