gloom lines

Gloom lines, also known as blue lines, are a form of iconography that expresses depression, sadness, apprehension, or fear. The most common ways to depict gloom lines are with series of straight or wavy lines drawn near a character's head, or directly introduced into the background. Gloom lines are traditionally depicted as blue, but it is not a requirement.
