Spike (eg) refers to two characters - the talking dog form that Spike the dragon takes when transported to the world of Equestria Girls, and his mirror world counterpart, referred to as "Spike the Dog" to differentiate him from the "original" Spike. Spike the Dog is the pet of the mirror world Twilight Sparkle, he behaves like a normal dog, incapable of speaking, until exposed to magic in Friendship Games, the third Equestria Girls film.
