pink triangle

The pink triangle was a symbol used in the Holocaust to mark homosexual men.

It was repurposed and reclaimed in the 1970s as a symbol of pride and the fight against homophobia.

In the 1980s, it was used during the AIDS epidemic in the iconic "Silence = Death" campaign, created in 1987. The campaign used a black poster with the pink triangle front and center, with just the caption "SILENCE = DEATH".
