The Octonauts are a team of undersea explorers. They consist of a group of seven anthropomorphic animals:

• Captain Barnacles Bear, a polar bear and the team leader,
• Kwazii, an orange cat who serves as Barnacles' lieutenant,
• Peso, a penguin who is the team medic,
• Professor Inkling, an octopus and the founder of the group,
• Tweak, a green female rabbit who is the team's engineer,
• Dashi, a brown dog who is the team's photographer and runs the base's computer network
• Doctor Shellington, a brown sea otter marine biologist.
