SCP-023, aka "The Black Shuck" is a creature held by the fictional SCP Foundation.

It takes the appearance of a large black canine with long shaggy fur, glowing red/orange eyes, and indeterminate sex. It’s a Euclid class object that has two anomalous traits: 1) It has the ability to walk through walls unless it is in the middle of a crossroads. 2) If a human being stares into its eyes and then breaks eye contact with the creature, then in exactly one year, either the person who looked into SCP-023's eyes or a close immediate family member will suddenly die, with all of their internal organs suddenly transformed into ash.
