Claire Wheeler (aka Proton Jon) is a twitch streamer who began her career as a let's player in the early 2000s on the Something Awful forums.

Her breakthrough into the mainstream began with her playthrough of Kaizo Mario World, alongside other members of the Something Awful forum. Considered to be a gem of early let's play era youtube, the playthrough resulted in the formation of various gags and notable quotes, including "MOVE FASTER POKEY!", "death water" and "100 seconds?!". The let's play quickly went viral, with many future let's players citing the playthrough as an inspiration for them beginning their career on YouTube.

Claire is one of three members of the collaborative let's play channel The Runaway Guys, alongside Tim Bishop, a.k.a. NintendoCapriSun, and Emile Rosales-Birou, a.k.a. ChuggaConroy. She also acted as one of four hosts of the Disc Only podcast, alongside Tom Fawkes, Stephen Georg of StephenVlogs, and Jerod Collins of The8BitDrummer.

On April 19th of 2025, Claire came out as transgender during the livestream Fortune Cookie: This is The One Edition, having started feminizing therapy almost two years prior on April 20th of 2023. While she still accepts the usage of her deadname and he/him pronouns due to having been on the internet for almost two decades, Claire has stated a preference for she/her pronouns.

Over the years, Claire received various alternate universe versions of herself, either as fanart drawn by her fans, or through artwork she commissioned herself. These images are often uploaded to Protonbooru, a fanart aggregate using the Gelbooru source code. Artwork of her character onto e621 is allowed, so long as there's an obvious furry disposition to it.
