Object grabbing refers to gripping an object that is still partially supported by the ground or fixed to some background structure (wall, tree, fence etc).

Another definition of grabbing is to grip, squeeze, or pull on an object with one's hands or similar prehensile appendage. This definition should only be used if a character is in the process of reaching for and taking something, or picking it up for example.
