Dorukolorukalai (Pronounced "doh-roo-koh-loh-roo-kah-lie") is a fictional race created by the artist Gunmouth. Also known as The Wanderers of Light and Shadow, Dorukolorukalai are a species of interdimensional-traveling monster-like humanoids that hail from "The Nightmare Realm", which is a an alternate dimension filled with all sorts of things that you would only expect to see in your best dreams and worst nightmares. Dorukolorukalai feed on the emotions and energy of mortals in the real world. To do so, they will usually create an interdimensional portal and drag a small child to the Nightmare Realm to entertain or terrify them and then feed on their emotions of delight or fear. Dorukolorukalai can also harvest the energy from love and sexual pleasure by abducting or seducing a young adults and copulating with them. When the latter method is employed, the Dorukolorukalai use special tentacle feelers to extract the energy by inserting them into orifices or onto genitalia.

Appearance wise Dorukolorukalai all have two legs, two arms, hands with 5-fingers including opposable thumbs and sharp, claw-like fingernails, a long, prehensile tail, two toned fur covering them from head to toe, hair on top of their head, bioluminescent eyes, sharp teeth, a freakishly long tongue, and a fluffy mane around the neck.

Dorukolourkalai are sexually dimorphic. Females have shorter than males, their hair is also short and so are their heart-shaped ears, which protrude from atop their heads. They have wider hips and relatively larger feet, they are capable of developing mammaries, and their mane loops and meets around their neck like a collar. Males are taller than females, their hair and ears are long, with the ears forking and taking on a very angular shape at the tips . Like a rabbit, they may potentially have lop ears that constantly droop off the side of their head. They have broad shoulders, relatively larger hands, and do not develop breasts. Their mane loops around or grows out of their shoulders and back but does not cross over their chest.

Dorukolorukalai also come in a variety of subspecies, indicated by the color of their fur, the nature of their tentacles, and other physical characteristics like foot or genital shape. For example, water-types have blue/green fur and hair, their manes grow out of their sides in a way that resembles fins, and their tentacles are made out of a slime-like or gelatin-like substance. By contrast, alchemy-types have dark red fur, a digitigrade leg structure and hooves, their tentacles are made out of electromagnetic energy. The subspecies type also determines the nature of their abilities, for example: water-types can breath under and manipulate water, and can only open portals through masses of water. By contrast, alchemy types can only make portals out of smoke and fire, and are capable of rapidly absorbing information and using it for alchemical experiments.

The most powerful and famous Dorukolorukalai is Captain Mora. This is because in addition to being really, really, strong, and having the power of flight, Mora is one of the only two of her kind capable of opening portals from anywhere to anywhere rather than requiring a specific material as a medium. The only other known member of her kind capable of doing this is her younger sister Mara.
