Meliphagids, members of the family Meliphagidae are a diverse family of medium-sized passerine birds most commonly known as honeyeaters. The family also includes the Australian chats, myzomelas, friarbirds, wattlebirds, miners and melidectes. They most commonly inhabit Australasian regions such as Australia, New Zealand, and New Guinea.
