Charlotte Magne (usually known by the nickname Charlie) is a demoness titled as the Princess of Hell who founded the Happy Hotel complex and thus serves as the main protagonist of the animated series Hazbin Hotel. She, despite what most of Hell thinks, believes that redemption is possible for any and all demons and hopes that it will help with the betterment of the kingdom. Her parents are Lilith and Lucifer, the ruling monarchs of the land, and unlike other inhabitants she was born there rather than sent there after a death on Earth. The bisexual character had a boyfriend in the past, but she's currently with the demoness Vaggie and feels very close to her.

In character terms, Charlie's caring, happy personality and overall optimism contrasts greatly with her dreary environment and the tough task that she's assigned herself. Her friendly, non-threatening appearance features big eyes with golden sclera and large rosy cheeks, the tall, pale skinned humanoid looking unlike many of the stereotypically monstrous dwellers with her in hell. Reflecting her sense of purpose, she generally wears fancy clothing such as her trademark outfit: an elegant pink tuxedo matched with sharp black pants as well as other accessories.
