A type of balloon made out of a thin layer of aluminum on plastic in all all manners of sizes and shapes. They are not true Mylar but the name has stuck.

Identification guide

• These balloons are much more likely to be in non-standard sizes and shapes than regular latex balloons.
• Characters probably wont be trying to inflate one of these directly unless it is a person sized model. Mylar balloons are bought and sold pre-inflated.
• The surface texture may appear similar to aluminum foil. Artist renderings will vary.
• Mylar balloons will commonly have a seam that splits the balloon into two halves.

• shaped_balloon - This will apply in most cases. Mylar balloons are usually not a generic shape like most regular latex balloons are by default. The default shape of a mylar balloon is likely to be a regular circle, or oval shape.
• circular_balloon - An actual circle, not a sphere, or ovoid. Some mylars will be more oval, and thus harder to distinguish from a latex balloon. Use your best judgment in this matter.
